How do I get my period back after weight loss?

September 27, 2008 · Filed Under Weight Loss · 8 Comments

I've been dietig for a while, and lost a good amount of weight, but im not done and am still hoping to loose more.
I don't know how much i weigh currently but im 13 years old and am 5'5" and i lost my period.
I havent had it for about 2 months now and im worried.
No matter what i eat or how much i exercise i seem to gain weight, and im scared it might be from my period loss.
Is there anyway i can get my period back without going to the doctor or anything?
I need help, i cannot stand gaining anymore of my weigh back,
I want serious answers that can actually help, i really need help, and i don't want any mean answers either.
I'm superly sensitive.
Im a virgin im not a little slut im not sexually active get real im not pregnant
im not exactly sure but i weigh aroud 120 to 125 pounds, im not happy with that.

Geez, if you don't want people to give you any "mean answers" you might want to drop the attitude. That person had a good answer for you. How were they supposed to know you were a virgin? There are a whole lot of 13yr olds who aren't. Take it easy. Work on growing out of that defensive thing you've got going on. Sooner than later. It's not going to help you later in life.

Why is it that when I start an exercise and weight loss program I put weight on?

Even though my body is shaping up, my weight stays the same and the reason for the weight loss is to bring my blood pressure down and get off the pills. That is even after 6 weeks of being on the program.

I agree with the others. Many people find that after they start exercising they get on the scales and they have put on weight.

You need to ignore the scales, throw them out. Begin to measure your body fat, or simply look in the mirror and ask yourself if your body is looking better. If your working out and eating healthy I am sure it will be.

Want to start a weight loss program, which ones have you tried that really work?

I will be starting either Weight Watchers, Jenny Craig, or NutriSystem, I would like to hear about your experiences. Thank you for your input! I will be using their food which I understand I will need to supplement. I will also be joining the YMCA so exercise will be a big part of my weight loss strategy.

weight watchers for sure!!

its basically not even a diet and you shed pounds easily, healthy and eating whatever you want.

i'm actually trying to lose some extra pounds so i'm going to start back on it (:

good luck and God bless!

Do you think there is a correlation between postpartum hair loss and weight loss?

September 20, 2008 · Filed Under Weight Loss · 3 Comments

I had a baby 4.5 months ago and am exclusively breastfeeding. Just recently my hair began to fall out big time and my weight has also been coming off more easily. I realize that the hair loss is normal, but I'm wondering if there is a correlation between the two. Perhaps the hair loss signals that the pregnancy hormones are out of our system which in turn lets our bodies know that we don't need the weight anymore. What do you think?

Yay! I'm so glad I can help you with this question! I have a 6 month old and I was constantly losing my hair in the shower. I was losing my mind over it so I called my ob… he told me that when you are pregnant, your body grows more hair and hair follicles to prepare for the baby. (one of many changes your body goes through, as you know) lol… so the hair that you are losing really isn't your "hair" as it is what grew in during those nine months. Remember that you were pumping TONS of iron and vitamins into your body, which promotes growth, not only of the baby, but of hair and other things in your own body. Also, keep in mind that if you are losing the weight, but still taking in a correct amount of nutrients and calories, you should be fine, talk to your ob about it, I hope that he or she can help you… but I wanted to tell you that I found this wonderful website that helped me through my post pregnancy "issues" and it helped me to gain my confidence back through weight loss and nutrition after I had my baby. I recommend it to everyone. It helped me get into shape and the woman who designed it is so helpful and kind… she helped me with a lot of questions that I was having and with a lot of "issues" that I was having because I could not lose my baby weight. It is absolutely phenomenal and it helps to know that there is a woman out there who can help with a REAL story and not just listening to these "fads" of weight loss. I hope this helps you, as we all want to look great and feel great after eating everything and being so big for 9 months! The website is: www.postpregnancyhealth.com

What is the average amount of weight loss per month for someone who hires a personal trainer for 4 days a week

What is the average amount of weight loss per month for someone who hires a personal trainer for 4 days a week and has a meal plan made for them by the trainer? Just curious as to what the average person would lose in a month doing this.
Also curious as to losing inches, Do you lose more inches than weight? When working with a trainer
what is cheating?

Thats cheating but I'd assume 12 pounds per week approx…

EDIT - I meant month you thumb down whores
